Is your site art or porn?
This is a clever question that has as many answers as there are people that visit our site. You know this answer, because in its simplest form: "Art is in the eye of the beholder." Some of you will consider our imagery art, others will consider it porn. Everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to it. We are not here to change anyone's mind.
It comes down to intent. Art is about evoking emotion. Porn is intended to sexually stimulate and arouse. Someone can look a the lingerie/underwear section of a Sears catalog and become sexually aroused. Was that its intended purpose? No. The intent is to sell you the clothing.
The human body is a work of art - it is government, judicial systems, and religion that instill guilt and fear in people, causing them to see a nude body as anything other than art.
Art is also about light and shadow. Without light we cannot experience art by sight - only with the other four senses. Shadow gives us a sense of depth, and richness of hues and tones.
We tend to light our guys with a strong light source, which causes strong shadows and enhances the richness of the muscles.
Porn on the other hand is evenly lit, most often with a lens ring so the viewer can see every nook and cranny.
We do not believe the viewer needs to see everything. Richness of art is also for the mind. And the mind has an incredible way of "filling in the voids of what is withheld from perception".
So perception also plays a huge part in art. What you see as art, we may observe as irrelevant; or visa versa.
Our intent is to provide art - a handsome nude male that is interestingly lit, and/or presented in an interesting manner.
In reality, the real question is, "How do you perceive our site?"
What is your mission statement?
To promote men in the fitness and entertainment industry.
Is your site straight or gay?
It is neither; it is both; and it is probably bisexual, too. We neither care about the sexual orientation of our guys, nor the sexual preferences or gender of our visitors, as long as we, along with the guys, provide you with the best content available. Some clips are erotic in nature, but there is no overt sex, therefore everyone can enjoy.
Who is your target audience?
Male Perfection was created because women said there were no video sites geared toward them; that sites either provided clothed and semi-nude beefcake or sexual porn, and nothing in between. We are here to fill that gap.
Where do you find your models?
If we shoot in a specific city and have an opening in our schedule, we will scout guys on various sites such as ModelMayhem.com, OneModelPlace.com, and MySpace.com. Most often the guys will reply to casting calls we post on IMDB and modeling sites. Others have visited our site and submitted themselves for consideration. Guys from all over the world have submitted themselves.
All models must submit themselves via our "Model for Us" page by filling out the form and providing the requested images. That gets them in our scheduling database.
Are you going to provide clips with the models' voices included?
For the time being we will concentrate on providing quick-edited videos that are underscored with music. Although, we are open to providing other types of clips and themes, the music videos we currently provide are what makes us unique.
How come you show bits and pieces of some models' privates, and not others?
We respect each model's comfort level. Some will allow the edited videos to contain partial frontal nudity; others insist that no penis and/or scrotum is allowed to show in the videos we provide to our members. How much is shown is driven by each model.
Will you ever show full frontal nudity?
The easy answer is no. At least no fully lit full frontal. We have shown full frontal disguised by shadows and other methods. If we show everything, what is left for the imagination?
Will you ever show a completely nude guy in a fully aroused state?
Once again the easy answer is no. Frankly, we have no qualms with an aroused penis. There is something very basic and human about it - an erection is as beautiful as any other part of the body. Unfortunately, by U.S. standards and Hollywood, showing and aroused penis is still considered taboo and/or sexual, and not artistic.
If the aroused penis were covered or partially concealed in shadows or by some other method, and the situation tasteful, we are open to it.
Where are you located?
We are not a brick and mortar company, which gives us flexibility. We are located in California, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, and England.
